Oboe Fingering Chart
Complete oboe fingering chart for concert band and orchestra.
How To Use An Oboe Fingering Chart
The oboe has a complex key system with many auxiliary keys for alternate fingerings and trills. Understanding the basic fingerings first will help you navigate the more advanced techniques.
How To Hold The Oboe
Hold the oboe at about a 45-degree angle from your body. Your right thumb supports the instrument from behind, while both hands cover the tone holes and operate the keys. Keep your fingers curved and close to the keys.
Reed And Embouchure
The double reed is placed between your lips. Use firm but not tight embouchure pressure, and support with proper breath control.
